These Cedar-Planked Salmon Burgers taste just like something you would buy while you are on vacation at a beach-side bar. The key is to buy a large piece of salmon and dice it yourself.


  • Woodsmoke Gourmet Cedar plank
  • 500 g fresh salmon
  • 2 tsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup chopped chives
  • Salt & pepper
  • Capers


  • Soak grilling plank in water for a least one hour, making sure it’s completely submerged
  • Preheat BBQ to 180ºC
  • Dice salmon and in a bowl, gently combine with mayonnaise, mustard, panko, chives, salt and pepper.
  • Form into four patties and place on the plank. Put the plank on the preheated BBQ and close the lid. After 8-10 minutes the salmon patties will be firm to the touch, remove from the heat.
  • Load the burger buns with salmon burgers and your favorite toppings and serve hot.
